Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Initial Course


This course teaches healthcare professionals how to approach cardio-respiratory emergencies using the systematic ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) approach.

Upon completion, participants will have the skills necessary to:

  • Manage adult cardiac arrest patient
  • Minimize confusion and chaos that sometimes occurs during medical emergencies
  • Feel more comfortable about individual roles and resuscitation challenges
This course includes lectures and skills in the following areas:
  • Endotracheal intubation
  • Dual Lumen airway device
  • Review of ECG interpretations
  • Arrest and pre-arrest treatments
  • Team approach to treatments
  • Review of Pharmacology
  • Acute stroke
  • Coronary syndromes

Pre-course requirements:

  • Know CPR
  • Basic ECG interpretation
  • Basic Emergency Pharmacology
