COVID-19 Vaccine Event in Salem, SD
Sanford Health is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals in the phase 1D population group as defined by the South Dakota Department of Health. We’re prioritizing vaccinations for residents who live in McCook or Miner counties and are over 80 years old.
Individuals who fall under the 1A or 1C population groups can also eligible. This includes health care workers, long-term care workers, emergency medical service providers, law enforcement officers and correctional officers.
The vaccine events will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Salem Armory on these dates:
- Jan. 27
- Feb. 10
- Feb. 24
- March 10
Vaccine supplies are limited so you will need an appointment to get your vaccine. If you meet the current vaccine qualifications and we have doses available for your priority group, Sanford Health will contact you to schedule an appointment. Appointments cannot be scheduled through the Salem Armory.
What to expect at your COVID-19 vaccine appointment:
- Wearing a mask is required
- Plan to be monitored for 15 minutes after your vaccination
- Be prepared to schedule an appointment for your second dose during your first appointment
Before your appointment, please familiarize yourself with the CDC prevaccination checklist.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this process.
