Though 67 million Americans have hypertension, only half of them know it. Symptoms are rarely noticeable. Hypertension is a contributing risk factor in the development of heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease and peripheral vascular disease, but it is usually only detected incidentally during a routine physical exam.
Sanford Health is dedicated to addressing the health risks and rising costs associated with hypertension. Clinicians strive to work closely with primary care providers, providing expert, experienced treatment of hypertension cases of all degrees.
Providing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team approach to managing hypertension, this approach has been proven to slow the progression of cardiovascular disease. Risk factors associated with heart attack, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, and kidney disease and failure are reduced. We also work to provide cost-saving measures that decrease incidences of diagnostic procedures that can be costly and invasive.
