(Bagley, M.N.) –Today, Sanford Health broke ground on a new clinic in Bagley, MN. The groundbreaking for the $1.5 million project took place at the site of the new clinic, 1656 Central St. W. in Bagley.
Key players in the project include Greater Bemidji, an economic-development agency, will own the building; Sanford Health, will lease and operate the clinic; the city of Bagley, will provide tax-increment financing and loan funds for the project; TEAM Industries, has donated $200,000 toward the land purchase and construction; and Headwaters Regional Development Commission, First National Bank Bemidji, Deerwood Bank, Riverwood Bank and Security Bank USA, who are assisting with financing.
“When Sanford was invited into the Bagley community, we made a promise to do what we could to meet the specific needs of local residents,” said Kirby Johnson, Administrator, Sanford Bagley. “Today, we are proud to deliver on that promise. The construction of this new facility confirms our commitment to providing high quality health care close to home.”
In addition to family medicine, internal medicine and other services the Bagley Clinic currently provides, several other services will join the new facility. Sanford Bagley Physical Therapy will relocate from Clearwater Ave. and cardiac rehab will move from the Bagley Medical Center. Sanford Health is analyzing additional services and community needs for the clinic as well.
The new clinic, which will be three times the size of the current clinic, will provide one central location, enhancing the coordination of patient care. It is expected to be open in late fall/winter 2013. Sanford Bagley Medical Center will continue to provide inpatient services to those requiring surgery and hospitalization. The existing Sanford Bagley Clinic will be used for other outpatient visits and ancillary services.
