It is easier to know if something has changed if you know what it used to look like. Checking your own body frequently, paying special attention to any moles, blemishes, freckles and other marks, is the best way to catch problems early. If you notice any new or changing moles, contact your health care provider for a skin exam.
Your primary care provider can check your skin for any signs of skin cancer or you can receive a skin exam from a dermatologist. A skin exam involves the medical professional visually inspecting and physically feeling your skin for anything that may be considered abnormal.
To schedule a skin cancer screening, call your primary care physician or Sanford Dermatology at (605) 328-8600.
