The COOs and presidents and vice presidents of operations included in this list have proven to be adept at leading organizations with various facilities, complex processes and multiple stakeholders in an ever-changing healthcare environment. Some of the leaders have spent decades in the healthcare industry, while others bring expertise from areas such as banking, accounting and business. With responsibility for overseeing the operations of multi-dimensional institutions, these leaders have lent much-needed support to CEOs and other members of hospitals' and health systems' executive teams.
