Sanford Health again honored by Information Week

IT efforts secure spot on “500” list for seventh-straight year

(Monarch Beach, CA) – Sanford Health in Sioux Falls is one of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology, according to InformationWeek’s annual “500” list announced last night at the organization’s yearly conference. It is Sanford’s seventh straight appearance on the list.

Sanford’s eVisits initiative was a key component of its inclusion on the list. eVisits allow patients to connect with their physicians online.  Through My Sanford Chart, eVisits are also accessible via the web, smartphone or tablet.  When a patient has a minor concern or needs the advice of a physician, they submit a questionnaire to their provider online, and it is reviewed and responded to within one business day.  No scheduling or travel is required, conserving time for both the patient and physician.

Launched in March and scheduled to test run for six months, eVisits also allows Sanford physicians to easily integrate data from these electronic check-ups into Sanford MyChart. Patients can review their records at any time to refresh on prior appointments or confirm their physician’s advice and instructions. eVisits will get a full launch in the near future with adjustments based on physician and patient feedback.
