Heart disease is the number one killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. However, it can be prevented. That’s why several organizations, including Sanford Health, support February as American Heart Month—a time to bring awareness to the issue of heart disease and encourage healthy behaviors and regular heart screenings.
Sanford Heart physicians Dr. Charles O’Brien and Dr. Christopher Stanton, along with Sanford Health dietician Cheryl Smith, were featured on the Sunday, January 29 edition of Inside KELOLAND: Heart Health to talk about all things heart-related to kick off the month. The segment also featured an update on the Sanford Heart Hospital, opening to patients in March.
