(Detroit Lakes, Minn) – As Detroit Lakes and the surrounding region grows, Sanford Health is committed to growing with it. A new expanded clinic with Same Day Surgery is now open for patients in the community. The Sanford Health Same Day Surgery Center has two surgical suites and one endoscopy (pushes a tube-like instrument into the body to look inside) suite. The media and the public are invited open house Thursday, June 30 from 5-7 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.
“We thank our patients for their patience during this construction time,” says Breanna Adams, Detroit Lakes clinic director. “And we are excited to offer improved care in an improved facility. This new space was designed with the patient in mind. No longer do they need to leave their network to travel for procedures.”
The expanded clinic opened its doors June 20, 2011 and Same Day Surgery opens July 6. This is the first part of a four-phase, $15 million, expansion and renovation to bring expanded services to the Detroit Lakes area. The completion of all four phases is slated for November of this year.
When all four phases are complete the full expansion and remodel will include 33,800 square feet added to the existing 25,800 square feet.
