Aberdeen Radiothon Raises 61557 to Benefit Sanford Childrens

36 Hour Event Raises Money for Children's Miracle Network.

(Aberdeen, SD) – Listeners from the Aberdeen area came together to help children by supporting the first annual Hub City Power of Hope Radiothon. A total of $61,557 was raised when Children’s Miracle Network at Sanford Children’s Hospital teamed up with Hub City radio during the 36 hour radiothon event February 9 – 11. Hosts from Pheasant Country 103.7 and Sunny 97.7 were live on the air from Sanford Children’s Clinic in Aberdeen, SD. Broadcast hosts introduced listeners to several area Miracle Children and their courageous families

“Sanford Children’s Hospital, the regions only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital has always had a strong commitment to children in this region,” said Amy Sumer, Program Director, Children’s Miracle Network. “It’s clear by the success of the first Power of Hope Radiothon how much the people of this area also care about children. We look forward to working with Hub City radio again to make a difference in the lives of sick and injured children and their families from this region.”

Donations poured in from across the area, including $1,462 raised at C.C. Lee Elementary in Aberdeen. Brittany Senger, Student Council President, presented a check from funds raised through “Links of Love” when paper links were sold to the students. The paper chain lined the halls at the school before being on display at the radiothon.
