Sanford Health Contributes $2 Million to Bemidji Events Center

The 185,000 sq. ft. facility will be the hub of social, cultural and recreational events in north-central Minnesota. It will serve the broader regional community, and will have an estimated $13 million annual impact on the economy.

(Bemidji, MN) – Bemidji city leaders announced a contribution of $2 million from Sanford Health to the Bemidji Regional Events Center. In turn the city will rename the venue The Sanford Center.

Richard Lehman, Bemidji mayor said, “We approached Sanford about this opportunity and we are very thankful for their willingness to partner with us. This new event center is really a source of community pride. Its economic development for this whole region and having Sanford step up to support us is incredible. The level of enthusiasm and commitment from Sanford is remarkable. They truly are transforming communities.”

Recognition of Sanford’s partnership will be held at the center on Friday, Oct. 29, during the hockey game between Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth.

It features a 4,700 seat arena with 25 suites and 200 club- level seats, 10,000 sq. ft. ballroom, 4,000 sq. ft. of breakout meeting space, ample pre-function lobby space - all located on the south shore of Lake Bemidji.
