(Sioux Falls, SD) – Thirty-six hours on the air, more than 30 hero stories and hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to fight childhood cancer. The third annual Results Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon was a HUGE SUCCESS, raising more than $161,000.
Sanford Children’s Hospital and Results Radio joined forces March 24-26, 2010, broadcasting live from the Carlson Great Hall of Sanford Children’s Hospital. This year’s hosts were on the air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days of the Radiothon event. The 2010 hosts included Ben & Patty from MIX 97.3, Dan Collins & Mickey Lee from KIKN Country 100.5, Crash from B102.7, Chad McKenzie from KSOO 1140, and Jeff Harkness from KDEZ 100.1.
All proceeds raised through Cure Kids Cancer go directly to programs and services for Sanford Children’s pediatric cancer patients and families, including Direct Child and Family Assistance and pediatric cancer education and research. Camp Bring It On, a camp for children with cancer, will also benefit.
The mission of Cure Kids Cancer is to help children’s cancer centers, like the one at Sanford Children’s, find life-saving treatments and eventually cures for children’s cancer by raising funds and awareness. Sanford Children’s Hospital is one of more than 170 Cure Kids Cancer children’s hospitals across the United States and serves as South Dakota’s only member in the National Cancer Institute sponsored Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
As the area’s only Cure Kids Cancer hospital, Sanford Children's Hospital offers the region's most comprehensive healthcare services for children. Leading edge technology, specially trained medical professionals and a vast array of services help meet the multiple medical needs of our patients and their families.
