Sanford USD Medical Center is one of 68 healthcare organizations throughout the country recently chosen by AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives) to be part of a two-year project to improve patient care. AONE intends to work with selected hospitals nationwide to share lessons learned from Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB).

TCAB is designed to improve the quality and safety of patient care on medical and surgical units, to increase the vitality and retention of nurses and to improve the effectiveness of the entire care team. Participating hospitals are taught the basic principles of the TCAB innovation process with a focus on nurse managers and team training. The program engages nurses to develop interventions and design new process that improve care and lead to better staff morale.
