The American Heart Association recommends three simple steps to reduce ALL the modifiable risk factors for heart disease, heart attack and stroke:

  • Avoid tobacco
  • Become more active
  • Choose good nutrition

Other Ways to Reduce the Risk:

  • Reduce blood cholesterol
  • Reduce high blood pressure
  • Be physically active every day
  • Aim for a healthy weight
  • Manage diabetes
  • Reduce stress
  • Limit alcohol
