Wisconsin men's basketball coach Bo Ryan was in Sioux Falls this afternoon as part of the Sanford POWER Basketball Coaches Clinic.
It was a chance for local coaches to learn from some of the game's best. Ryan discussed strategy and philosophy, but said ultimately, it's up to each coach to decide what they're comfortable doing.
"When I'm giving a clinic, I always think of it this way: I got into this profession as a teacher, I taught in the classroom, so I try to give people things that they can build on, the fundamentals," Ryan said. "And then, when it comes to teaching anything, whether it's history or teaching basketball, you have to be patient and you have to have a point A in order to get to point B."
Other coaches at the clinic included SDSU's Scott Nagy and Aaron Johnston, along with Augustana's Tom Billeter, Kansas assistant Joe Dooley, and Iowa's Todd Lickliter.
