MeritCare Evacuation Complete
Fargo, N.D. – As of 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning, one of the last groups of patients left MeritCare Hospitals in Fargo. It was an interesting group—three came in and six went out. Three new moms and their babies! It was quite a gift in a difficult time.
So was the gift regional hospitals and emergency medical transport services provided. When it became clear that MeritCare needed to evacuate, their response was phenomenal.
Patient care is the focus of all we do. When MeritCare knew that it was no longer safe for us to continue care for our patients, it was reassuring to know that we could rely on our health care partners.
At the heart of MeritCare Hospitals evacuation were the doctors, nurses and staff who coordinated the process; their work was heroic, compassionate and patient-focused. MeritCare successfully evacuated 180 patients in about 6 hours. We can't thank everyone enough.
