MeritCare is partnering with Fargo Public Schools Parent Teacher Association members to make it easy and convenient for parents with children at four local schools to get their entire family vaccinated. The program is called "Families Fighting Flu" and will provide flu shot clinics at schools. This is a pilot program, with plans to expand to more Fargo Public Schools in the future.
The dates and locations of the "Families Fighting Flu" clinics are:
- Monday, Oct. 13, 3:30-7 p.m., Roosevelt Elementary, 1026 N. 10th St. This clinic is for Roosevelt and Horace Mann Elementary students and parents.
- Tuesday, Oct. 14, 3:30-7 p.m., Longfellow Elementary, 415 N. 4th St.
- Monday, Oct. 20, 4-8 p.m., Discovery Junior High, 1717 40th Ave. S.
- Tuesday, Oct. 21, 3:30-7 p.m., Jefferson Elementary, 315 16th St. S.
The program is only open to students who attend the participating schools and their immediate family members. Those wishing to participate must contact their child's school to obtain a patient registration form for each member of their family they wish to have vaccinated. After filling out the patient registration form, parents are asked to turn it in at their child's school and schedule an appointment for each family member. The deadline to schedule an appointment at the Horace Mann Roosevelt Elementary and Longfellow Elementary flu clinics is Oct. 8. The deadline to schedule an appointment at the Discovery Junior High and Jefferson Elementary flu clinics is Oct. 15. Appointments are required for participation. Parents and children are asked to arrive at the school five minutes prior to their scheduled appointments.
