Less than 65 Days Until Christmas Get Your Shopping and Holiday Spirit Started Today

On Monday, Oct. 20, tickets go on sale for the 24th annual MeritCare Festival of Wreaths. The event takes place Friday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Ramada Plaza Suites Crystal Ballroom, Fargo. Events include shopping, a festival luncheon, breakfast and lunch events with Santa, a formal gala, and more.

On Monday, Oct. 20, tickets go on sale for the 24th annual MeritCare Festival of Wreaths. The event takes place Friday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Ramada Plaza Suites Crystal Ballroom, Fargo. Events include shopping, a festival luncheon, breakfast and lunch events with Santa, a formal gala, and more. Proceeds from this year's event will be used by MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center to fund a survivorship program to help patients facing cancer find hope within each other.

All Festival of Wreaths activities are open to the public. Reservations are required for some activities. Tickets are available by calling the MeritCare Foundation at (701) 234-6190 or (800) 437-4010, ext. 6190, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, or may be purchased online at festivalofwreaths.meritcare.com.

Following is the line-up of this year's events:
  • Open House Shopping Extravaganza, Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets: $3 adults, $1 children age 10 and under.
    Cash-and-carry shops: Alpine Village is a cash-and-carry shop that features miniature trees and gingerbread houses created by local chefs and artists. The Timeless Treasures Boutique is filled with an assortment of decorations and other holiday-related items available for cash-and-carry.
    A silent auction is available throughout the weekend festivities.

  • Festival Luncheon, Friday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
    Tickets: $25, reservations required.
    Enjoy a wonderful lunch while listening to inspiring messages of Renee' Rongen as she presents the Gift Inside of You.

  • English Tea at Three, Friday, 3-4:30 p.m.
    Tickets: $20, reservations required.
    An afternoon social to include a traditional English tea experience as presented by the British Club of Fargo-Moorhead.

  • Girls' Night Out, Friday, 6:30 p.m.
    Tickets: $25, reservations required.
    This event just for the girls includes a style show, wine, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment and shopping.

  • Breakfast or Pizza with Santa, Saturday, 9 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.
    Tickets: $15 adults, $12 children 10 and under. Reservations required.
    Children have the opportunity to dine with Santa. They also get to enjoy the sounds and smells of the holidays as they decorate gingerbread cookies and sing songs.

  • Gala, Saturday, 6:30 p.m. social, 8 p.m. dinner
    Tickets: $100 per person, reservations required.
    A gourmet dinner followed by an exciting, live auction filled with unique holiday items.
