LIFEBACK Program Reports Successful Outcomes

The MeritCare LIFEBACK Spine Rehab Program recently completed over seven years of service. Nearly 650 of participants were surveyed regarding their recovery from chronic low back pain. The report shows excellent outcomes for participants.

LIFEBACK is a "train-not-treat" outpatient program that consists of in-clinic active training and personalized home training plans. Clinic programs include stabilization and flexibility training, lifestyle training to improve healing and recovery, and spinal unloading therapies. Patients are also followed up with coaching evaluations to enable successful recovery.

The MeritCare LIFEBACK Spine Rehab Program recently completed over seven years of service. Nearly 650 of participants were surveyed regarding their recovery from chronic low back pain. The report shows excellent outcomes for participants, including:

  • 94 percent satisfaction with the rehab progress and result of the LIFEBACK program.

  • 92 percent reported that the overall quality of life, activities at home and at work improved or were maintained.

  • Nearly one third of participants were able to return to work whom were previously unable to do so.
