On April 16, 1962, volunteers first appeared in St. Luke's Hospital. MeritCare Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that has provided substantial financial support to MeritCare. Since 1962, the Auxiliary has donated $1,889,538 to MeritCare Health System! Donations have ranged from their first donation of a respiration unit in 1963 to their current pledge of $100,000 to Dialysis Services; with major contributions to MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center, MeritCare Children's Hospital and Easy Street Rehabilitation. The Auxiliary holds a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, including vendor sponsored sales, MeritCare Gift Shops and a boutique at the Annual Festival of Wreaths. Volunteers can be found serving throughout the organization; greeting and escorting visitors, assisting families, and working in the gift shops. These are only a few of the areas where volunteers bring their talents. Thank you to all the MeritCare Auxiliary members and volunteers for all of the work you do for MeritCare!
