While it's suggested that everyone get a flu shot, the following people should be sure to receive the vaccine:
- People 50 years and older
- People who live in long-term care facilities
- People ages 5-50 years with chronic health conditions
- Children ages 6 months-5 years
- Pregnant women
- Daycare providers
- Adults and children who live with children ages 0-5 years
- Health care personnel who provide direct patient care
- Anyone wishing to reduce their risk of contracting the flu
Flu shots for children/teens:
Parents with children/teens ages 0-17 years should call their doctor's office to make an appointment.
Flu Shot Blitzes
MeritCare will begin offering influenza (flu) vaccinations at flu shot blitzes. Please see the locations below for dates and times in your area. Patients that have scheduled appointments can get their flu shot during their appointment.
MeritCare Bemidji North

- Flu shots are offered at a rate of $31 from Oct. 1st - Dec. 31, 2007. The preservative-free vaccine will be $35.
Flu shots are a covered benefit under Medicare.
