"For the last two years Field Day has been held indoors because of wet weather - we are crossing our fingers that we have a beautiful day this year," said Susie Munyer. "Either way it promises to be a fun, exciting time for the kids and the employees."

In 1999, MeritCare became the first corporation in Fargo-Moorhead to adopt a school. Since that time, nearly all of the schools in the Fargo Public School District have been adopted by business partners through the efforts of the Fargo Public School Development Foundation. The decision to adopt Roosevelt was a way to encourage MeritCare employees to get more directly involved with their community and give back in a very important and tangible way - by volunteering their time and talents to help kids stay healthy. Current partnership activities include mentoring, classroom reading, safety and wellness education, career exploration and summer art enrichment. The program is coordinated by MeritCare's Community Connections department.
