The goal of Parents' Fair is to provide information on how to keep kids and families healthy. This year's event will feature award-winning author Dr. Thomas Phelan. He will present on realistic and effective methods for disciplining children ages 2-12.

Dr. Phelan's book 1-2-3 Magic was a best-seller. The book provides practical and easy-to-learn parenting techniques for children. The American Library Association calls the book "an excellent, workable, and supportive resource for parents and educators."

The event will also provide numerous information sessions on topics ranging from childhood sleep habits to Internet safety, as well as a display area featuring informative booths. Anyone involved in caring for children is invited to attend - moms, dads, prospective parents, grandparents, teachers, day-care providers and health-care professionals.

The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available and free day care will be offered for 1 to 6-year-olds by the United Child Care Providers Association at Bridgetown Daycare, 321 Fourth St. N, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
