MeritCare Holding 22nd Annual Parents Fair Saturday March 17

On Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., MeritCare is holding the 22nd annual Parents' Fair at the Fargo Civic Center, 207 Fourth St. N. The goal of the event is to provide information to help kids and families stay healthy. This year's event will provide numerous sessions on topics ranging from childhood sleep habits to Internet safety, as well as a display area featuring informative booths.

On Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., MeritCare is holding the 22nd annual Parents' Fair at the Fargo Civic Center, 207 Fourth St. N. The goal of the event is to provide information to help kids and families stay healthy. This year's event will provide numerous sessions on topics ranging from childhood sleep habits to Internet safety, as well as a display area featuring informative booths.

National, award-winning author Dr. Thomas Phelan is this year's keynote speaker. He is presenting from 9-11 a.m. on realistic and effective methods for disciplining children ages 2-12. Dr. Phelan's book 1-2-3 Magic provides practical and easy-to-learn parenting techniques for children.

Other specials offerings:
  • CPR classes
  • Parents are encouraged to bring their child's bike helmet in for a fitting
  • Photo identification for kids and fingerprinting available all day

Parents' Fair is free and open to the public. Anyone involved in caring for children is invited to attend - moms, dads, prospective parents, grandparents, teachers, day-care providers and health-care professionals. Free parking is available and free day care will be offered for 1 to 6-year-olds by the United Child Care Providers Association at Bridgetown Daycare, 321 Fourth St. N.
