Festival of Wreaths Event to Start on Thursday Nov 16

This week, over 200 community volunteers are busy putting together the finishing touches for the 22nd annual Festival of Wreaths, which will take place from Thursday, Nov. 16 to Saturday, Nov. 18. This year's celebration will include a home for the holidays event; shopping; a festival luncheon featuring motivational speaker Renee' Rongen; a casual party with music by Past Due; breakfast and pizza events with Santa; and an elegant, formal gala. Proceeds from this year's event will support MeritCare in its effort to open the region's first Primary Stroke Center.

This week, over 200 community volunteers are busy putting together the finishing touches for the 22nd annual Festival of Wreaths, which will take place from Thursday, Nov. 16 to Saturday, Nov. 18. This year's celebration will include a home for the holidays event; shopping; a festival luncheon featuring motivational speaker Renee' Rongen; a casual party with music by Past Due; breakfast and pizza events with Santa; and an elegant, formal gala. Proceeds from this year's event will support MeritCare in its effort to open the region's first Primary Stroke Center.

All Festival of Wreath activities will be held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Ramada Plaza Suites and all are open to the public. Reservations are required for some activities. Tickets/reservations are available by calling the MeritCare Foundation at (701) 234-6190 or (800) 437-4010, ext. 6190 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, or tickets may be purchased online at festivalofwreaths.meritcare.com.

Following is the line-up of events:
  • Your Home for the Holiday, Thursday, 7 p.m.
    Tickets: $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
    An evening showcasing holiday how-tos in d├ęcor, entertaining and fashion.
  • Open House Shopping Extravaganza, Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets: $3 adults; $1 children age 10 and under.
    Features five specialty shopping areas: Timeless Treasures Boutique - assortment of decorations and other holiday-related items; 12 Days of Christmas - bid on gift packages via the silent auction; Festival Fare - bid on unique dinners and parties, special menus created by area cooks and served in some of the most beautiful houses in Fargo-Moorhead; Alpine Village - miniature trees and gingerbread houses created by local chefs and artists; and Holiday Gallery - bid on unique handcrafted holiday items via the silent auction.
  • Festival Luncheon, Friday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
    Tickets: $20, reservations required.
    Enjoy a wonderful lunch while listening to the humorous, powerful, life-changing messages of Renee' Rongen.
  • Waltz of the Snowflakes, Friday, 2-5:30 p.m.
    Tickets: $3 adults; $1 children age 10 and under.
    Music will fill the Crystal Ballroom as performers of all ages share their talents center stage for shoppers to enjoy.
  • Dazzle to Denims Party, Friday, 8 p.m.-midnight
    Tickets: $15 in advance; $20 at the door.
    A cocktail party with live music provided by Past Due, beer tasting and cash bar.
  • Breakfast or Pizza with Santa, Saturday, 9 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.
    Tickets: $15 adults, $10 children 10 and under. Reservations required.
    Children have the opportunity to dine with Santa.
  • Gala, Saturday, 6 p.m. social, 8 p.m. dinner
    Tickets: $90 per person; reservations required.
    A gourmet dinner and social with jazz by the 42nd Street Band.
