Sioux Valley is pleased to announce the addition of the Sioux Valley Transplant Center.
Sioux Valley is pleased to announce the addition of the Sioux Valley Transplant Center. The goal of the Sioux Valley Transplant Center is to provide expert, state-of-the-art medical management for kidney transplant recipients and live donors referred to the Sioux Valley Transplant Center. The Transplant Center will be located on the main campus of Sioux Valley Hospital in Medical Building 2. The clinic is now open and accepting patients.
Each person who comes to the Sioux Valley Transplant Center meets a team of experienced health care providers. Each member of the team will become a resource for patients in understanding the evaluation process, transplant procedureand care post operatively to ensure long-term quality outcomes.
This team includes transplant surgeon Dr. Anatolie A. Usatii. Dr. Usatii received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Moldova. He completed his residency program at the City Emergency Hospital in Moldova in 1996. He completed an internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in 2000 and his General Surgery residency training at the University of North Dakota in 2004. Following residency, Dr. Usatii completed his Solid Organ Transplantation Fellowship at Ohio State University. Dr. Usatii is board certified in General Surgery.
Another key member of this team is Dr. Barry Lankhorst who will serve as the lead medical nephrologist. His team will work closely with all referring nephrologists to coordinate patient care. Dr. Lankhorst received his medical degree from Texas Technical University of Medicine, Lubbock, Texas. He completed his residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1978 and also served his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1980. Dr. Lankhorst is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Board Certified by the American Board of Nephrology and Board Certified by the American Board of Critical Care Medicine.
