MeritCare Medical Center, 801 Broadway North, Fargo, received a bomb threat phone call at 11:35 a.m. The phone call activated our emergency command center. At this time, the bomb threat has not been substantiated.
We are currently taking all precautions necessary to assess the situation and ensure the safety of all patients and staff. We are currently in the process of closing down access to the hospital. All doors to MeritCare Medical Center are locked until the situation can be assessed. We are diverting ambulances, canceling elective procedures, closing retail services and clearing the hospital of visitors and unnecessary personnel.
We are asking all patients to not attend appointments scheduled for this afternoon at all downtown locations only:
Patients will be called by MeritCare to reschedule appointments.
We are asking all visitors and family members to leave this location unless you are actively involved in the care of a patient or are the parent of a minor patient.
Associates for the oncoming shifts should report to the Broadway Clinic entrance and proceed to the auditorium at your scheduled time and await further instruction.
We are asking all volunteers not to report for their shift today.
