FOX Radio Team To Raise Money During The Ninth Annual 61for61 Event Sept 28 Through Sept 30

For the ninth year in a row, rain, shine, sleet or snow, The FOX 107.9 FM's morning crew is going to work nonstop for 61 hours with the goal of raising over $61,000 for the MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center during its "61 for 61" event.

For the ninth year in a row, rain, shine, sleet or snow, The FOX 107.9 FM's morning crew is going to work nonstop for 61 hours with the goal of raising over $61,000 for the MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center during its "61 for 61" event.

It all started in 1998 when the FOX crew had an idea. It was the year that Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa broke Roger Maris' record of hitting 61 home runs in a single season and the crew wanted to raise money to support the MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center, so why not live on a billboard for 61 hours and raise $61,000?

This year, the team will be doing their work from the awning of the Holiday Inn, I-94 and 13th Ave. S., Fargo. This year's event will feature a silent auction, Home Run/Walk event, Mystery Motorcycle ride, barbecue and more! For more information and a complete schedule of events, visit 61for61.meritcare.com.

Funds raised by 61for61 event are used for research and to strengthen patient support at MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center.
