The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations may conduct an unannounced accreditation survey of this organization, MeritCare Health System, at any time. The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate MeritCare's continuous compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to MeritCare Health System and its organizational entities.

Joint Commission standards deal with organizational quality of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. If an individual has any concerns about patient care and safety at MeritCare Health System, that have not been addressed, he or she is encouraged to contact the MeritCare Patient Representative at (701) 234-5876.
