Sioux Valley Sets Record Year for Births

Thousands of new moms can celebrate this Mother’s Day knowing they were part of a record birth year at Sioux Valley Hospital USD Medical Center.

Thousands of new moms can celebrate this Mother’s Day knowing they were part of a record birth year at Sioux Valley Hospital USD Medical Center. For the first time ever, more than 3000 babies were born at Sioux Valley Hospital in one year.

A total of 3099 babies were born at Sioux Valley during the most recent fiscal year (May 1, 2005-April 30, 2006). Until this year, Sioux Valley had never exceeded the 3000 mark for births. Of the 3099 births, 1593 were boys and 1506 were girls. Four sets of triplets were delivered and 69 sets of twins.


To celebrate, 15 different clinics will receive "birthday cakes". Sioux Valley will also honor any new mom who delivers on Mother’s Day with a dozen pink roses.
