In 2005, Sioux Valley had a donation rate of 83% according to LifeSource. The rate is calculated by dividing the total number of actual donors by the total number of eligible. The national average is around 60%. Sioux Valley will be recognized on Donate Life Day, April 29, 2006, during a presentation in St. Paul, Minnesota.

South Dakota had the highest number of donors it has ever had in 2005, with 36 donors providing organs for 118 grateful recipients. The donation rate for SD in 2005 was 72%.
