Acute care clinics commonly see patients for ailments such as: puncture wounds, foreign body in eye(s), lacerations (bad cuts), bee or other insect bites, minor burns, Workers Comp injuries, ear infections, high fevers, respiratory problems (bronchitis), sore throat (Strep throat), allergic reactions (bad rashes), bladder infections, and strains or sprains from work or sports injuries.

Dr. Lornell E. Hansen, II, who has worked in Family Medicine for the last 10 years, will be one of the Sioux Valley Clinic physicians providing care at the new Acute Care location. Dr. Hansen received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his Sioux Falls Family Practice Residency program in 1997 and was certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 2001.
