North Dakotas Only Reproductive Medicine Clinic Opens on February 2

Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, North Dakota's only comprehensive reproductive medicine clinic will be opening it's new doors – MeritCare Reproductive Medicine, which has been in existence since 1994, has moved to 1111 Harwood Dr. S., Fargo. The clinic has specifically been designed for reproductive medicine patients and will offer a number of new amenities, including greater access for patients to get in to see their provider, a more convenient location, improved privacy, extended hours, educational classes, a support group, massage therapy and acupuncture.

  • MeritCare has the only comprehensive reproductive medicine clinic in North Dakota. The staff includes three full-time, in-house providers who are dedicated to reproductive medicine, including the state's only two reproductive endocrinologists and one nurse practitioner. (The second doctor will be joining in July 2006).
  • Currently, over 800 couples from North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota are served by the clinic.
  • The clinic's overall pregnancy success rate is 47 percent, vs. the national rate of 30 percent.
  • The clinic is an integral part of MeritCare's overall women's health services program.
  • The clinic performs ovulation induction, superovulation, semen analysis, artifical insemination, IVF, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted hatching, cryopreservation, treatment of endometriosis and uterine fibroids. In the future, staff will have the capability to treat patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome.
