Sioux Valley Hospital to Offer Enhanced Emergency Medical Technician Training

The Center for Prehospital Care and Emergency Preparedness at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD will be sponsoring an entry level EMT-Basic program.

The Center for Prehospital Care and Emergency Preparedness at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD will be sponsoring an entry level EMT-Basic program. This program is open to anybody over 18 years of age who has intentions of working, or volunteering on an ambulance service in their community.

Volunteer services are always looking for trained personnel to respond to emergency calls for help in their community. An EMT class is the best way to gain the knowledge required to fill those positions.

In addition to including the information required by the National Standard Curriculum, this course will also offer enhancements such as Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP), advanced airway module, federally required incident command training as well as a Homeland Security course on response to terrorist events. The enhancements added to this course will prove to make it an exciting and educational event while developing the much needed highly skilled responders of the future.
