Sanford Worthington’s Infusion Center
Our infusion center supports patients in need of chemotherapy, fluids and other medical interventions. We’re open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer flexible weekend hours based on the needs of our patients.

Linear Accelerator
The TrueBeam radiotherapy system offers remarkable accuracy. It can treat tumors and lesions in various parts of the body, including the lungs, breasts, head and neck.

The treatment works by using real-time, dynamic imaging enhanced by 2D, 3D and 4D technology. It tells your provider the exact position of the targeted treatment dose. This improves the treatment’s precision, allowing for better imaging of hard-to-reach tumors.

The system helps patients heal in fewer sessions compared to conventional therapy. Shorter sessions also lower the risks of side effects. Using a beam of radiation to accurately target tumors, the linear accelerator treats patients faster and in less sessions.

Clinical Trials
 We give our patients greater access to clinical trials and innovative treatments. Sanford Worthington Cancer Center is also a research site for the Minnesota Cancer Clinical Trials Network.

How to Prepare

Call us at (507) 343-6100 with any questions you have about your appointment at Sanford Worthington Cancer Center.

Please bring these documents with you to your first appointment:

  • Your completed new patient information packet
  • Medical insurance ID card
  • A list of all your current medications and doses
  • A list of questions to ask the physician
  • Family member, significant other or friend to help you take notes and ask questions
  • Any documents related to advanced directives, including medical power of attorney, living will or out-of-hospital do not resuscitate

A photograph will be taken during your first appointment for identification and kept in your electronic chart.

If you need an interpreter, please contact Sanford Worthington Cancer Center before your first visit so we can make arrangements.

Bloom The Boutique
Bloom the Boutique is a one-stop shop located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Survivors can find fashion, wigs, cosmetics and prostheses to help them cope with hair loss from chemotherapy, soothe skin irritation caused by radiation or compensate for body changes after surgery.

We understand that looking good is part of feeling better. Bloom the Boutique specializes in helping cancer survivors cope and thrive with strength and flair. We’re here to help you feel comfortable with your appearance and empower you to confidently take on your day.

Protecting Your Heart

We educate radiation therapy patients on deep inspiration breath holds. This technique helps patients receiving treatment to their chest or breast. It may help minimize the amount of radiation that the heart is exposed to during treatment.

This method is most beneficial to patients with cancer in their left breast. It could also help patients with Hodgkin lymphoma, lung cancer or pancreatic cancer.

Your Personal Guide

Nurse navigators help guide you and your family through your cancer journey. They are registered nurses who can help:

  • Coordinate appointments, care and transportation
  • Guide you through the health care system
  • Clarify your diagnosis and treatment
  • Connect you to cancer support services and educational resources
  • Refer you to additional services such as nutrition, social support or financial counseling

Most importantly, your nurse navigator is someone you can turn to for answers and support.
