Nutrition

Give yourself a wide variety of choices. Make sure your choices include high-fiber foods and foods that contain vitamins A and C. Definitely avoid foods high in fat and salt.

  • Each individual and family benefits from early identification, assessment and referral to services that optimally meet their needs.
  • Continue to bake and make the foods you love. A few alterations to a recipe can lower the fat content.
  • Eat only for today. Eating a lot one day doesn't mean eating less the next. Remember, even though you say "this doesn't count," your body is counting.
  • Be sure to eat breakfast. The body handles food better when you eat several small meals starting in the morning.
  • Try to avoid eating too much at night.
  • Use common sense with salt, sugar, coffee, pop and junk food. A little can go a long way.
