An Internal Medicine Specialist Caring for Hospitalized Patients
Dr. Tony Oliver provides general medical care to patients during their hospital stay. He is a board-certified internal medicine specialist and works in a role similar to that of a primary care physician in a hospital. To make sure patients are getting the best care possible, Dr. Oliver coordinates his patients’ care with their primary care providers and other specialists.
His services include:
- Obtaining a patient’s medical history
- Performing physical exams
- Ordering and interpreting lab and diagnostic tests
- Prescribing medications
- Treating common illnesses
- Providing health education and counseling
Dr. Oliver also serves as a clinical associate professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
