The ultimate success of any knee surgery revolves around reestablishing correct ligament balance because the knee is such a complicated joint. Whether I’m Doing a ligament reconstruction in a young injured athlete, establishing appropriate ligament balance in a total knee replacement or a revision of a previous knee replacement, that’s what I find challenging and interesting. I’ve been doing knee surgery as a primary focus since 1980.
-I’ve been involved in basic science research in training, and have spent over 30 years as a practicing clinician. I’m now involved in several outcome research studies.

As a young athlete I was injured playing athletics at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. Interacting with the school’s physician while I healed from my injury initially triggered my interest in health care.
Dr. Lundeen is married and has two children. In his spare time he enjoy golfing and cutting horse competitions.
