Title:

Healing Chronic Venous Stasis Wounds with Autologous Cell Therapy

Description:
Healing Chronic Venous Stasis Wounds with Autologous Cell Therapy. This study uses a process to derive stem cells from your own body fat, and use them to try to help heal a chronic wound you have. You will be randomized (1:2) to get standard of care wound dressings (no stem cells) or stem cells treatment and wound dressing. If you get randomized to the stem cell group, you will have a small liposuction procedure to obtain about 1 cup of body fat from your belly area. We will follow all patients for one year to investigate if stem cells show a healing benefit compared to those who do not get stem cells in patients with long-lasting, non-healing leg wounds.
