A Children's Oncology Group Protocol for Collecting and Banking Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Specimens

The aim of this study is to accomplish the collection of brain tumor tissue and an accompanying blood sample as biological specimens from participants and to provide a repository for long-term storage of pediatric brain tumor biological specimens. Children who participate in this study have been diagnosed with a brain tumor. A tumor is an abnormal growth of cells or tissues in the body. This growth may be harmless if it has stopped growing (called benign). It may also be harmful if it is cancerous and continues to grow (called malignant). In addition this study aims to make these specimens available to qualified researchers to understand the biology of pediatric brain tumors.
