GEMS provides EMS practitioners at all levels the skills and knowledge to handle the unique medical, social, environmental and communications challenges of older adults. Developed by NAEMT, in partnership with the American Geriatrics Society, GEMS empowers EMS practitioners to help improve medical outcomes and quality of life for geriatric patients. This course is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, emergency medical responders, nurses, physician assistants and physicians. The eight-hour courses enhance the competence, confidence and compassion of EMS practitioners in responding to geriatric patients.

For parents who have delivered a child in the past or possibly at another hospital, but would like a refresher on reinforcing relaxation techniques, pain control, medical interventions, and labor positions. Includes tour of our OB unit.

This 1 hour class is designed for "brothers and sisters to be," ages 3 to 7 years to aid in adjusting to the addition of a new baby in the family. The class includes: characteristics and actions of a newborn, feeding the new baby, doll play, care of a newborn using demonstration and information about the Family Birth Center. One or both parents should accompany the child to class. Classes are subject to availability.
