Komen South Dakota Race for the Cure®

Sanford Health is proud to be the local presenting sponsor of the Komen SD Race for the Cure®.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world's largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer. The series raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

This 5K Run/Walk and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk will take participants through the streets of Vermillion before finishing inside the University of South Dakota’s Dakota Dome with awards and a tribute ceremony honoring race winners and breast cancer survivors.

Since its origination in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure® Series has grown from one Race with 800 participants to a global series of 120 Races with more than 1.5 million people expected to participate in 2009.

Biking for Breast Cancer

Biking for Breast Cancer is an opportunity for anyone who has been touched by the disease to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Cyclists can choose a 20-mile bike ride in Sioux Falls or a 50-mile road ride throughout the area countryside. Both rides will start and end at the Sanford Cancer Center with a celebration at the completion of the ride.

Join us at the next Biking for Breast Cancer event on September 18, 2010!
