Intertility

Overview

Many of us dream of one day starting a family, but for some this dream is not easily reached.  Roughly 12 percent of women (7.3 million) in the United States aged 21-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or carrying a baby to term. Most experts define infertility as not being able to get pregnant after at least one year of trying. If you have tried unsuccessfully to conceive a child, the prospect of one day having a family may seem impossible. There is hope – the physicians and staff at Sanford are dedicated to the care of patients coping with infertility.

Many things can affect a couple’s ability to have a baby. These include:

  • age
  • stress
  • poor diet
  • athletic training
  • being overweight or underweight
  • tobacco use
  • alcohol
  • sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • health problems that cause hormonal changes

The physicians and staff at Sanford Clinic Fertility & Reproductive Endocrinology are dedicated to the care of patients coping with infertility. Their comprehensive services and personal fertility treatments can provide answers to your reproductive health questions.
