Sanford physician scientists lead National Cancer Institute and other nationally sponsored cooperative group study programs involving adult, pediatric, and gynecologic oncology. In addition, a growing variety of industry sponsored and physician investigator drug and device trials are conducted through the Sanford Clinical Research Center.
Sanford's Clinician leadership in prominent vascular, cardiac, and neuroscience trials has received national attention. A multi-million annual operating budget and a team of research coordinators and administrative staff support Sanford Research/USD’s clinical research enterprise. Sanford Research/USD Clinic Research is under the leadership of V.R. Brandenburg, MD, Medical Director and Jim Slack, Director of Clinic Research Operations.
