(Vermillion, SD) – Dakota Hospital Foundation (DHF) in Vermillion, SD and Sanford Health based in Sioux Falls, SD announced today Sanford Health will make a $12 million investment in Sanford Vermillion’s medical facilities over the next five years. The agreement also means Sanford Health will assume ownership for the infrastructure, including building projects and technology, at the conclusion of the project.
Founded in 1930, DHF has dedicated itself to improving the health of people in the Vermillion area. Together with Sanford Vermillion Medical Center, DHF continues to dedicate itself to community health and wellness. Since 1989, the partnership has brought new facilities, new programs and new doctors to serve the Vermillion area’s health care needs.

As part of the agreement, Sanford Health will remodel several areas of Sanford Vermillion before removing the 1935 building and replacing it with an expanded outpatient service center. As this takes place, Sanford Health will continue to enhance available services and technology.
