Sanford Cancer Center
(Sioux Falls, SD) The region’s premier facility for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has expanded. Sanford Cancer Center, located on the Sanford USD Medical Center campus in Sioux Falls, recently opened a new floor dedicated to hematology and oncology services. This expansion moves Sanford’s hematology and medical oncology physicians, clinical team, support services, infusion center and oncology pharmacy to Sanford Cancer Center.
“Sanford’s cancer team believes the fight against cancer involves a journey of healing that includes the latest in cancer and blood disorder treatments, research and compassionate care. The expansion of Sanford Hematology and Oncology allows us care for patients in a welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment incorporating the arts to create a supportive and comfortable atmosphere,” said Jacquie Kluck, Executive Vice President of Sanford Clinic.
The first phase of the Sanford Cancer Center opened in 2003 and houses radiation services. In 2007 Sanford Breast Health Institute opened its doors at the Sanford Cancer Center for diagnostic breast imaging services. The Sanford Cancer Center also houses the Kirby Cancer Resource Center and Bloom the Cancer Boutique. The Boutique carries a wide variety of specialized products and services that help manage the changes in appearance from cancer treatments.
