Hospice
Sanford Hospice serves patients and their families to provide comfort and support during an end-of-life illness. We are here to provide emotional and spiritual support and focus on improving quality of life. Our team consists of specially trained nurses, pastoral care, clinical pharmacists and social workers and is available as a resource for physicians, patients and families 24/7 at any point during their illness. Assistance includes: pain management, spiritual and social support, bereavement counseling, and helping families and nursing staff deal with their own stress as they care for patients in end of life situations.
LuAnn Eidsness, MD
Dr. Eidsness specializes in palliative care medicine and is the medical director of Sanford Hospice in Sioux Falls. She holds many board certifications and is the Professor and Chair at the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Dakota.
