Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Sanford Cardiac Catheterization Labs provide emergency and scheduled procedures to treat patients having heart attacks, in need of angioplasties, radiological procedures and other heart procedures. Typically, patients are given a sedative, then a small catheter is threaded into an artery in the leg which travels to the heart and clears blockages that may cause or induce a heart attack. Sanford has been awarded for our track record of removing heart blockages within 55 minutes from the time a heart attack patient enters our hospitals. Our cath labs are staffed 24/7 by leading interventional cardiologists and a team of cardiac specialists.
