American Heart Association
Our partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA) is driven by a shared determination to create a world where heart disease and stroke no longer claim lives. We work together and participate in AHA national events, bringing them to the local level with Go Red, Heart Walk and other community activities that promote healthy heart habits. Through Mission: Lifeline, we’re improving our response rates to heart attack victims – dramatically increasing survival and reducing patient recovery time.
The AHA recently defined ideal cardiovascular health by identifying seven health and behavior factors that affect health and quality of life:
- appropriate weight
- healthy eating pattern
- regular exercise
- control of cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar
Sanford Heart and Sanford Health support these factors with multiple specialties, initiatives and services. We’re working hard to make healthier hearts a reality.
