Nurse Pam: I am Proud to be a Nurse
I have been a nurse for 32 years. I worked in a small rural hospital in Iowa, even before it became a member of the Sanford Community, in all areas of nursing, from OB to ER to med-surg. In a small hospital you develop a close relationship with the patients and thier families. You think that you are just doing your job and then you meet them on the street and they give you a hug and they tell you how grateful they are for the care you gave them or a loved one.
It has been a very humbling and rewarding experience, just to go home at night and hope that I made a difference. I have never regreted becoming a nurse. I have seen the power of prayer and God many times in my career and it has been an amazing journey.
